Welcome to the online hub for the Skell Valley tourism development project, working in partnership with Lilla and Layla from Ripon BID and Visit Ripon.

This project is one of 15 projects that together make up the wider Skell Valley Project. The tourism development project aims to increase collaboration and generate coordinated tactical marketing activity that encourages people to stay longer, spend more and enjoy more of Ripon and the lovely countryside that surrounds it. We’ll do this by creating content about this area’s distinctiveness for businesses to use, increasing marketing know-how through delivering workshops and improving communication between tourism businesses in the area. This part of the project is being undertaken by Susan Briggs.

Skell Valley Project, with Visit Ripon & Ripon BID

These workshops are for the Skell Valley Project, co-led by The National Trust and the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We work in partnership with Visit Ripon and Ripon BID. The workshops are organised by Susan Briggs at The Tourism Network. They are open to any tourism or hospitality businesses in Ripon and the surrounding countryside. You don’t need to be a BID levy payer to participate.

The Skell Valley Project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
